In a world where your thoughts are often commodified, true freedom lies in owning your words. Many mainstream platforms claim to protect your posts but track your interactions, store your data on US servers, and subject you to opaque moderation policies.
The Reality: Especially X (formerly Twitter) and but also Bluesky collect vast amounts of user data, while Threads (Meta) ties your posts to a surveillance-driven ecosystem with Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Moderation, mainly on Thitter can be non-existent, inconsistent, biased, or even censorial, often without transparency.
Our Recommendation: Choose Mastodon for decentralized, community-driven microblogging. These platforms give you control over your data, allow you to set your own moderation rules, and avoid centralized surveillance. Although decentralised, you can connect to any Mastodon user on any server.
